Crochet Vintage-Inspired Ice Skates Ornament Free Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in white, tan, and grey
• Crochet hook size G/4.0mm
• Tapestry needle
• Small buttons or beads for loop hooks
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st(s) = stitch(es)
• inc = increase (2 sc in next st)
• dec = decrease (sc 2 together)

Instructions:

Skate Blade (Make 2):

1. Using grey yarn, ch 26.
2. Round 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, turn to work on opposite side of ch, sc in each ch along the other side. Join with sl st. (50 sts)
3. Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st. Fasten off.

Sole (Make 2):

1. Using tan yarn, ch 9.
2. Round 1: 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 6 ch, 4 sc in last ch. Continuing around the opposite side of the ch base, sc in next 6 ch, 2 sc in last ch. Join with sl st. (20 sts)
3. Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in next 4 sts, sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in last 2 sts. Join with sl st. (28 sts)
4. Round 3: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Fasten off.

Boot (Make 2):

1. Using white yarn, join to sole.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, sc in each st around. (28 sts)
3. Rounds 2-10: Repeat Round 1.
4. Round 11: Ch 1, sc in next 10 sts, dec, sc in next 4 sts, dec, sc in remaining sts. (26 sts)
5. Round 12: Ch 1, sc in next 9 sts, dec, sc in next 3 sts, dec, sc in remaining sts. (24 sts)
6. Round 13: Repeat Round 1.
7. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Laces:

1. Using white yarn, cut long length and lace through boot front.

Assembly:

1. Sew sole to the top of the skate blade.
2. Sew the boot securely onto the sole.
3. Attach buttons or beads to sides for lace hooks.

Finishing:

1. Weave in any remaining ends and shape if necessary.
2. Use as ornament or gift topper as desired!
