Step-by-Step Instructions
Back
- Cast on 90 stitches using the long-tail cast-on method for a stretchy edge.
- Work in 2x2 ribbing (knit 2, purl 2) for 2 inches to create a snug hem.
- Switch to stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl the next) and continue until the piece measures 20 inches from the cast-on edge.
- Once you reach the desired length, bind off all stitches loosely to maintain elasticity.

- Work in 2x2 ribbing for 2 inches.
- Change to stockinette stitch and knit until the front measures 18 inches.
- To shape the neck, bind off the center 20 stitches and work each side separately.
- On each side, decrease 1 stitch at the neck edge every other row a total of 5 times.
- Continue to work even until the front measures the same as the back (20 inches).
- Bind off all stitches loosely.

- Continue to knit even until the sleeve measures 18 inches from the cast-on edge.
- Bind off all stitches loosely.
Finishing
- Sew the shoulder seams together using a whip stitch or your preferred method.
