Abbreviations

  • CO: Cast On
  • K: Knit
  • P: Purl
  • St: Stitch
  • Rep: Repeat
  • Dec: Decrease
  • Inc: Increase

Instructions

1. Casting On

Begin by casting on 60 stitches (or any even number that suits your desired width of the blanket) using the long tail method.

2. Starting the First Row

Row 1: *K2, P2; repeat from * to the end of the row. This creates the foundation for your textured stitch.

3. Creating the Texture

Row 2: *P2, K2; repeat from * to the end of the row.

Continue to alternate rows 1 and 2 until your piece measures approximately 50 inches in length, or your desired size. This texture creates a lovely and cozy feel.

4. Finishing Off

Once you reach your desired length, you will finish with a final Row 1 for a nice edge.

5. Binding Off

To bind off, knit the first two stitches, then pass the first stitch over the second and off the needle. Continue this process until you reach the end of the row, leaving one stitch on your needle. Cut the yarn leaving a long tail and pull it through the last stitch to secure.

6. Weaving in Ends

Using the tapestry needle, weave in any loose ends throughout the blanket to ensure a clean finish.

Finishing Touches

Your cozy textured throw blanket is now complete! Enjoy cuddling up with it or gifting it to someone special.
