Crochet Adorable Panda Hooded Poncho Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in cream and black

Poncho Body

1. With cream yarn, ch 60 and join with a sl st to form a ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in each ch around. Join with sl st to first hdc. (60 hdc)
3. Rounds 2-20: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join with sl st to first hdc.
4. Round 21: Change to black yarn, ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join with sl st to first hdc.

Hood

1. With cream yarn, ch 40.
2. Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (38 dc)
3. Rows 2-15: Ch 2, dc in each st across. Turn.
4. Fold hood in half and sl st across the top to close.
5. Attach hood to poncho body by sc along the neckline.

Panda Ears (Make 2)

1. With black yarn, make a magic circle.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in circle. (6 sc)
3. Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
4. Round 3: Sc in each st around. (12 sc)
5. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing to the hood.

Pocket

1. With black yarn, ch 16.
2. Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (14 dc)
3. Rows 2-10: Ch 2, dc in each st across. Turn.
4. Attach the pocket to the front center of the poncho body using sc across the pocket edges.

Finishing Touches

1. Sew panda ears to the top sides of the hood.
2. Attach buttons for eyes and embroider a nose and mouth with black yarn.
3. Weave in all ends securely with the tapestry needle.
