Crochet Amigurumi Crab Pattern
This pattern will guide you through creating an adorable amigurumi crab using basic crochet stitches. Perfect for beginners, follow the detailed steps to make your own cute sea friend.
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in light blue and beige (or colors of your choice)
- Crochet hook size 2.5 mm
- Fiberfill or stuffing
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Stitch marker
- Two small safety eyes
Gauge
Gauge is not critical for this project, but the stitches should be tight enough so the stuffing does not show through.

Instructions
Crab Body
- Start with a magic circle. (Alternatively, ch 2 and work into the second ch from the hook.)
- Round 1: 6 sc in the magic circle. (6 sts)
- Round 2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
- Round 3: (sc in next st, inc) repeat around. (18 sts)
- Round 4: (sc in next 2 sts, inc) repeat around. (24 sts)
- Round 5-8: sc in each st around. (24 sts)
- Round 9: (sc in next 2 sts, dec) repeat around. (18 sts)
- Round 10: (sc in next st, dec) repeat around. (12 sts)
- Stuff the crab body with fiberfill.
- Round 11: dec around. (6 sts)
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
Crab Claws (Make 2)
- With blue yarn, ch 2.
- Round 1: 6 sc in the second ch from the hook. (6 sts)
- Rounds 2-3: sc in each st around. (6 sts)
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
- Fill lightly with stuffing and sew the claws to the sides of the crab body.
Crab Legs (Make 4)
- With blue yarn, ch 4.
- Row 1: Sc in the second ch from the hook and in each ch across. (3 sts)
- Fasten off, leaving a tail suitable for sewing.
- Attach two legs to each side of the crab, below the claws.
Finishing
- Attach the safety eyes between rounds 3 and 4.
- Use the yarn needle to sew any remaining parts or secure loose ends.
