Materials Needed:
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in dark gray (approx. 1500-1800 yards)
- Crochet Hook: Size H/8 (5.0 mm) and Size G/6 (4.0 mm) for ribbing
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
- Measuring Tape
Gauge:
14 sc and 16 rows = 4 inches
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- blo: back loop only
- st(s): stitch(es)
- dec: decrease
- RS: right side
Pattern:
Back Panel:
- With H/8 hook, ch 74 (78, 82, 86).
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across (73, 77, 81, 85 sts). Turn.
- Rows 2-80: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn.
- Fasten off.
Front Panel:
- Repeat as for back panel.
Sleeves (Make 2):
- With H/8 hook, ch 36 (40, 44, 48).
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn.
- Repeat Row 2 until sleeve measures 18 inches in length (approx. 90 rows).
- Fasten off.
Ribbing:
- Attach yarn to the bottom of one panel with the G/6 hook, ch 9.
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Slip st to the bottom edge of the panel. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 1, sc blo across, slip st to the next st on the panel’s edge. Turn.
- Repeat Row 2 across the entire bottom edge.
- Repeat for other panel and sleeve cuffs.
- For neck, start in any stitch and work ribbing in rounds.
Assembly:
- Sew shoulder seams using whip stitch or preferred join method.
- Attach sleeves to armholes, ensuring even distribution.
- Sew side seams and sleeve seams together.
- Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Block lightly if necessary.
