Crochet Delightfully Textured Honeycomb Pullover
Materials Needed:
- Double Knit (#3) weight yarn, approximately 300-600 yards depending on size
- 4 mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge:
16 stitches x 20 rows = 4" in honeycomb stitch (before blocking).
Sizes:
Instructions provided for sizes 2T, 4T, 6T, 8, 10, 12.
Stitch Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sc = single crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- st = stitch
- RS = right side
- WS = wrong side
Pattern Instructions:
Body:
1. Chain 90 for size 2T. Adjust by adding or subtracting in multiples of 6 for other sizes.
2. Row 1: Work 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, then *ch 2, skip 2 ch, 1 dc in next ch; repeat from * across. Finish with 1 dc in last ch. (Total stitches should equal your starting chain minus 2.)
3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn. Work *1 dc in the ch-2 space, ch 2, repeat from * across to last st; 1 dc in the top of turning ch.
4. Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures approximately 14-16 inches for chest width. Adjust for desired length.
Sleeves:
5. For the sleeves, chain 50. Repeat rows 1-4 for the sleeve pattern. Crochet until the length from the shoulder seam measures about 10-12 inches.
Assembly:
6. Position the body flat, fold sleeves inward toward the center of the body. Join the sleeves to the body using slip stitches or single crochet. Leave an opening for armholes.
7. Create a hem by working 2 rows of *sc in every st around the hem, join with sl st.
Finishing:
8. Weave in all ends and block if desired. Your Honeycomb Pullover is now ready to wear!
