Materials:

  • Yarn: Fingering weight in gradient lavender shades.
  • Crochet Hook: Size D/3 (3.25 mm).
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • st = stitch
  • sp = space
  • ch sp = chain space

Instructions:

Foundation:

Ch 5, join with a sl st to form a ring.

Row 1:

Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in ring, ch 2, 3 dc in ring, turn.

Row 2:

Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same st, dc in each dc to ch-2 sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in each dc across, 2 dc in top of turning ch, turn.

Row 3:

Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), (dc, ch 1) in each dc to ch-2 sp, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch-2 sp, (ch 1, dc) in each dc across, ch 1, dc in top of turning ch, turn.

Rows 4-15:

Repeat Rows 2-3 alternately, continuing to increase at center and edges to maintain the triangular shape.

Border:

Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same st, skip next st, *(sc, ch 3, sc) in next st, skip next st, (2 dc) in next st, skip next st; repeat from * across to last st, 2 dc in last st, fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing:

Block the shawl to open up the lace pattern. Enjoy your elegant creation!
