Materials Needed:

• Yarn: DK weight cotton yarn in violet (approximately 1200 yards)
• Crochet hook: Size G/6 (4.0 mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Gauge:

14 DC and 8 rows = 4 inches

Abbreviations:

• CH: Chain
• SC: Single Crochet
• DC: Double Crochet
• HDC: Half Double Crochet
• SL ST: Slip Stitch

Instructions:

Bodice:

1. Front Panels:
   1. Make 2. CH 21.
   2. Row 1: DC in 3rd CH from hook, DC across. (19 DC)
   3. Row 2-10: CH 2, turn, DC across. (19 DC)
   4. Row 11: Decrease 1 DC evenly across row. Repeat for each subsequent row until 8 DC remain.
   5. To shape V-neck, do 2 separate decreases towards center edge every alternate row.
2. Back Panel:
   1. CH 41. Repeat as front panels but without shaping.

Skirt:

1. Join panels at shoulders.
2. Starting from side seam, work in rounds.
3. Round 1: Attach yarn at right side seam, CH 3 (counts as DC), DC around, join with SL ST to top of CH 3.
4. Round 2-25: CH 3, *DC, skip 2 DC, (1 DC, CH 1, 3 DC) in next DC†, repeat from * around, join with SL ST to CH 3.
5. Lace Pattern: Work scallop details by alternating shell and DC sequences for desired length.

Tie:

1. CH until it reaches 60" long.
2. Weave through waist area.
3. Add tassels if desired.

Finishing:

1. Sew sides of bodice to underarm.
2. Weave in all ends using tapestry needle.

Block lightly to shape.
