Crochet Light and Lacy Floral Wave Scarf

Materials:

  • Lightweight cotton yarn (approx. 300 yards)
  • Hook size 4.00 mm (G/6)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Gauge:

24 stitches and 10 rows in double crochet = 4 inches.

Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • dc = double crochet
  • sk = skip
  • st = stitch
  • sp = space

Instructions:

Chain Foundation:

Ch 36.

Row 1:

Dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in each of the next 32 chs. Turn. (34 dc)

Row 2:

Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in the next dc. *Ch 2, sk next dc, dc in the next 2 dc; repeat from * until 2 dc remain, ch 2, sk next dc, dc in the top of the ch-3. Turn.

Row 3:

Ch 1, sc in the top of the first dc. *Ch 3, sk next 2 dc, sc in the next dc; repeat from * across. Turn.

Row 4:

Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1), *dc in the next sc, ch 2, dc in the next ch-3 sp; repeat from * until the last sc, dc in the last sc. Turn.

Row 5:

Ch 1, sc in the top of the first dc. *Ch 3, sk next dc, sc in the next dc; repeat from * across. Turn.

Row 6:

Repeat Rows 2-5 until you reach the desired length, ending with Row 3.

Finish:

Fasten off and weave in all ends. Block if desired to enhance the lacy pattern.

Optional Edging:

Add a scalloped edge by creating a row of scallops along each short edge: *5 dc in the same stitch, sk 2 sts; repeat from * along the edge.
