Crochet Textured Shell Stitch Blanket

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in beige
• Crochet hook size H (5.0 mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st(s) = stitch(es)

Instructions:

Foundation Row:

1. Ch 122 (or a multiple of 6 + 2 for desired width).
2. Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn.

Row 1:

1. Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), skip first sc, *5 dc in next sc (shell made), skip 2 sc, sc in next sc, skip 2 sc*; repeat from * to * across, ending with skip 2 sc, sc in last sc. Turn.

Row 2:

1. Ch 3, dc in first st, *sc in second dc of shell, shell in next sc*; repeat from * to * ending with sc in second dc of last shell, 2 dc in last sc. Turn.

Repeat Row 2:

1. Continue repeating row 2 until desired length is achieved.

Border:

1. Ch 1, sc evenly around the entire blanket, working (sc, ch 2, sc) in each corner. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends with tapestry needle.
