Crochet Toadstool Mushrooms Pattern
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in red and white
- Crochet hook size G/4mm
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge
Gauge is not crucial for this project, but ensure uniform tension.
Abbreviations
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- st: stitch
- inc: increase (2 sc in one st)
- dec: decrease (sc 2 together)
- sl st: slip stitch
- FO: fasten off
Instructions
Large Toadstool Cap
- With red yarn, make a magic ring.
- Round 1: Work 6 sc into the ring. (6 sts)
- Round 2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
- Round 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st) around. (18 sts)
- Round 4: (Sc in next 2 sts, inc in next st) around. (24 sts)
- Round 5: (Sc in next 3 sts, inc in next st) around. (30 sts)
- Round 6: (Sc in next 4 sts, inc in next st) around. (36 sts)
- Round 7: (Sc in next 5 sts, inc in next st) around. (42 sts)
- Round 8-10: Sc in each st around. (42 sts, for 3 rounds)
- FO and weave in ends.
Small and Medium Toadstool Cap
Follow the same pattern as the large cap but stop at the desired round to achieve smaller sizes (e.g., stop at Round 6 for the small).
Stem
- With white yarn, ch 2.
- Round 1: Work 6 sc in the second ch from hook. (6 sts)
- Round 2: (Sc in next st, inc) around. (9 sts)
- Round 3-8: Sc in each st around. (9 sts, for 6 rounds)
- For taller stem, add more rounds of sc.
- Stuff lightly with fiberfill.
- FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Assembly
- Use the long tail from the stem to sew the stem to the underside of the cap using a tapestry needle.
- Add small white spots sporadically on the red cap using small scraps of white yarn.
- Weave in all ends securely.
Finishing
Shape your mushrooms as desired, adjusting stuffing to ensure they stand upright. Create multiple toadstools to enhance your desired display.
