Materials

• Yarn: DK weight, 200g in light grey
• Knitting needles: Size 6 (4mm)
• Darning needle
• 14-inch square pillow insert
• Stitch markers

Gauge

22 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches in pattern stitch

Abbreviations

• CO - Cast On
• K - Knit
• P - Purl
• * - Repeat instructions following the asterisk as directed

Instructions

Front Panel

1. CO 80 stitches.
2. Row 1: *K2, P2; repeat from * to end.
3. Row 2: *P2, K2; repeat from * to end.
4. Row 3: K all stitches.
5. Row 4: P all stitches.
6. Repeat rows 1-4 until the piece measures 14 inches, ending on a row 4.
7. Bind off all stitches.

Back Panel

1. CO 80 stitches.
2. Work in the same pattern as the front panel until it measures 14 inches.
3. Bind off all stitches.

Finishing

1. Weave in all ends with a darning needle.
2. Place the front and back panels together with the right sides facing each other.
3. Sew three sides together, leaving one side open for the pillow insert.
4. Insert the pillow and sew the remaining side closed.
