Cable Knit Blanket

Materials

• Approximately 1200 yards of chunky weight yarn in cream
• Size US 13 (9 mm) knitting needles
• Cable needle
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

8 stitches x 10 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Abbreviations

• K: Knit
• P: Purl
• C6B: Slip 3 stitches to a cable needle and hold in back, knit 3 from left needle, knit 3 from cable needle
• C6F: Slip 3 stitches to a cable needle and hold in front, knit 3 from left needle, knit 3 from cable needle

Instructions

Cast On:
Cast on 120 stitches.

Row 1-4:

Knit all stitches (this creates the garter border).

Row 5 (Right Side):

K8, *(C6B, K6), repeat from * to last 8 stitches, K8.

Row 6 (Wrong Side):

K8, P to last 8 stitches, K8.

Row 7-10:

Repeat Row 6.

Repeat Rows 5-10:

Continue repeating rows 5-10 until blanket measures approximately 70 inches or desired length.

Ending Border:

Knit 4 rows in garter stitch.

Finishing

Weave in all ends using a tapestry needle. Block gently if desired to relax stitches and even out tension.
