Instructions:

Granny Square:

1. Start with a Magic Ring: Wrap the yarn around your fingers to create a loop, insert your hook into the loop, yarn over, and pull up a loop.
2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), then make 2 dc into the ring. Ch 2, make 3 dc into the ring. Repeat this pattern two more times (you should have 4 groups of 3 dc with 3 ch-2 spaces). Sl st to top of the beginning ch 3 to join.
3. Round 2: Change to your next color. Slip stitch into the first ch-2 space. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), then make 2 more dc in the same sp (you have 3 dc). Ch 2, make 3 dc in the same space. Move to the next ch-2 space, repeat this grouped dc (3 dc, ch 2) until you reach the end. Sl st to join.
4. Round 3: Change to a new color. Slip stitch into the first ch-2 space. Ch 3, make 2 more dc in the same sp. Ch 1, *in the next ch-2 sp, make 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc*. Repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st.

Scalloped Edge:
