• Worsted weight cotton yarn in red (approximately 200 yards)

Instructions

Body of the Towel

1. Start by making a foundation chain of 36 ch.
2. Row 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and in every ch across. (35 sc) Turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as dc), *dc in next stitch, sc in next stitch*; repeat from * to * across. End with a dc in the last st. Turn.
4. Repeat Row 2 for 60 rows or until desired length, alternating sc and dc to create a textured pattern.

Top Hanging Loop

5. Row 61: Ch 1, sc in first 5 sts, ch 25 (for loop), sk next 25 sts, sc in last 5 sts. Turn.
6. Row 62: Ch 1, sc across including into each ch of the loop (35 sc). Fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing

Weave in any remaining ends securely using the yarn needle. Block your towel by dampening it and laying it flat to dry, shaping it to an even rectangle if necessary. Hang and enjoy!
