Cozy Crochet Slippers with Textured Pattern

Create these warm and comfortable crochet slippers featuring a charming textured pattern. Perfect for lounging at home, these slippers combine style and coziness with a delightful mix of colors.

Materials Needed

  • Yarn: Super bulky weight yarn in cream and tan
  • Hook: 9mm crochet hook
  • Gauge: 8 sts and 6 rows = 4 inches in double crochet

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Sole

  1. With cream yarn, make a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: Chain 2 (this counts as your first double crochet), then work 11 double crochets (dc) into the magic ring. Join with a slip stitch (sl st) to the top of the chain-2. You should have a total of 12 stitches.
  3. Round 2: Chain 2, then work 2 double crochets in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch. You should have 24 stitches now.
  4. Round 3: Chain 2, then work (2 double crochets in the next stitch, 1 double crochet in the next stitch) around. Join with a slip stitch. You should have 36 stitches.
  5. Round 4: Chain 2, then work 1 double crochet in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch. Fasten off the cream yarn.

2. Upper

  1. With cream yarn, join at the center back of the sole.
  2. Row 1: Chain 2, then work 1 double crochet in the next 18 stitches. Turn your work. You should have 19 stitches.
  3. Row 2: Chain 2, then work a double crochet two together (dc2tog), followed by 1 double crochet in the next 15 stitches, and finish with another dc2tog. Turn your work. You should have 17 stitches.
  4. Row 3: Chain 2, then work a dc2tog, followed by 1 double crochet in the next 13 stitches, and finish with another dc2tog. Turn your work. You should have 15 stitches.
  5. Change to tan yarn.
  6. Row 4: Chain 2, then work 1 double crochet in each stitch across. Turn your work.
  7. Repeat Row 4 two more times, alternating colors as desired. Fasten off the yarn when finished.

3. Assembly

  1. Using a whip stitch, sew the upper part of the slipper to the sole. Make sure to align the edges neatly for a polished look.
  2. Weave in all ends using a yarn needle to secure your work and prevent any unraveling.

Now you have your very own cozy crochet slippers! Enjoy wearing them around your home or gifting them to a loved one.
