Instructions
Step 1: Cast On
Begin by making a slip knot with your yarn and place it on the left needle. CO 40 stitches using a long tail cast on method.
Step 2: Start Knitting
Row 1: K across the row to the last stitch.
Row 2: P across the row to the last stitch.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the scarf measures approximately 60 inches or your desired length.
Step 3: Add Texture (Optional)
If you wish to add texture, switch to a ribbing pattern on the final 10 rows:
Row 1: K2, P2 across.
Row 2: K2, P2 across.
Repeat these two rows for 10 rows total.
Step 4: Bind Off
To finish your scarf, BO loosely across the last row, ensuring that it's not too tight.
Step 5: Weave in Ends
Using the tapestry needle, weave in any loose ends from where you started and ended the yarn.
Final Touch
Gently block your scarf if desired by laying it flat and shaping it to the desired dimensions.
