Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in cream, pastel pink, pastel yellow, pastel blue, pastel green, and pastel purple
- Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Darning needle
- Polyester stuffing
- Safety eyes (optional)
Finished Size
Approximately 30 x 40 inches
Instructions
Main Blanket
With cream yarn:
- Ch 101 (or a multiple of 3 plus 1 to adjust size).
- Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (100 sc)
- Row 2-75: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Striped Quilt
With alternating colors (pink, yellow, blue, green, purple, repeat):
- Ch 41.
- Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, skip 2 ch, *(sc, 2 dc) in next ch, skip 2 ch; repeat from * across, ending with 1 sc in last ch, turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3, dc in first sc, *(sc, 2 dc) in next sc, skip 2 dc; repeat from *, ending with 1 sc in turning ch, turn.
- Repeat Row 2 until piece measures about 15 inches, ending with a full repetition of color pattern.
Teddy Bear Head and Paws
With cream yarn:
Head:
- Make a magic circle, ch 1, 6 sc in the circle, tighten.
- Round 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc).
- Round 2: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc* around (18 sc).
- Round 3: *1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc* around (24 sc).
- Continue increasing until you reach 48 sc, then continue sc in each sc for 6 rounds. Start decreasing in reverse of increasing for dome shape. Stuff the head and close.
Ears (make 2):
- Make a magic circle, ch 1, 6 sc in circle, tighten.
- Round 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc).
- Round 2: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc* around (18 sc).
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Paws (make 2):
- Make a magic circle, ch 1, 6 sc in circle, tighten.
- Round 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc).
- Round 2: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc* around (18 sc).
- Rounds 3-4: Sc in each sc around. Stuff lightly and close.
Bunny
Head and ears with cream yarn:
- Use the same pattern as teddy bear ears for bunny's ears, but make them slightly longer by adding two more rounds before fastening off.
Assembly
- Sew the teddy bear head and paws onto the top of the striped quilt.
- Attach ears to the teddy bear head.
- Sew the bunny next to the teddy bear under the quilt as shown in the image.
- Use embroidery thread to add details such as eyes, nose, and mouth.
Border
With cream yarn:
- Round 1: Sc evenly around the entire blanket, placing 3 sc in each corner, join with sl st.
- Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in same st, skip 2 sts, *(sc, 2 dc) in next st, skip 2 sts; repeat from * around, join.
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
