Crochet Breezy Bohemian Mesh Tunic Free Pattern
Skill Level: Easy
Materials:
- Worsted weight cotton yarn (approximately 800-1000 yards, depending on size)
- 5.5mm (I) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Stitches Used:
- Chain (ch)
- Slip stitch (sl st)
- Single crochet (sc)
- Double crochet (dc)
- V-stitch: (dc, ch 1, dc) in the same stitch
Sizing: Adjusts easily, fits sizes small to large with the adjustable tie.
Gauge: 14 dc = 4 inches, 6 rows = 4 inches in double crochet.
Instructions:
Body of Tunic:
- Chain 112 (or any multiple of 6 plus 2 for size adjustment).
- Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook (this counts as your first dc), dc in each ch across. (109 dc)
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), turn. Dc in the next dc, V-stitch in the next dc, *skip 2 dc, V-stitch in the next dc; repeat from * across. Dc in the last dc. (Total V-stitches will vary based on size)
- Row 3-14: Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures approximately 24 inches from the beginning. Adjust for desired length.
Sleeves:
- Turn the tunic to work on the sleeves. Attach yarn at the underarm.
- Ch 1, 28 sc around the armhole, join with sl st to the first sc.
- Work in rounds, repeat V-stitch pattern similar to the body for 8 rounds or desired sleeve length.
Finishing:
- Fasten off and weave in all ends.
- To create the adjustable tie, chain 80 (or desired length) and attach it to the waistline center of the tunic.
- Give a light blocking to shape and size the tunic.
