Crochet Charming Blue and White Bird Applique Free Pattern

Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn in blue, white, and orange
- Crochet hook size G/4.0 mm
- Yarn needle
- Small black bead or safety eye for the eye
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- dc: double crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
- MR: magic ring
Instructions:
Body:
- With blue yarn, create a MR. Inside the ring, work 6 sc. Tighten the ring and join with a sl st to the first sc. (6 sc)
- Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st. (12 sc)
- Ch 1, (1 sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next stitch) around. Join with sl st. (18 sc)
- Continue in this increase pattern until you have a circle about 2 inches in diameter. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Wings:
- With white yarn, make a MR. Work 6 sc into the ring. Pull tight and join with sl st. (6 sc)
- Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st. (12 sc)
- Ch 1, 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st. Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing. (12 sc)
Beak:
- With orange yarn, ch 4. Starting from second chain from the hook, 1 sc, 1 dc, sl st in last ch. Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.
Assembly:
- Position the blue circle for the body, and attach the white wing using the yarn needle and the long tail.
- Sew the orange beak onto the front of the bird.
- Using black yarn or a small bead, attach the eye just above the beak.
And there you have your adorable crochet bird applique!
