Instructions:
Foundation:
- Begin with a magic circle, or ch 4 and sl st to form a ring.
- Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc into the ring. Ch 2, *3 dc, ch 2* repeat from * to * two more times. Join with sl st to top of starting ch 3. (12 dc, 4 ch-2 spaces)

Color Changes and Expansion:
- Change colors every 2 or 3 rounds to match the colors shown in the rug.
- Continue working in the established stitch pattern, making the rectangle shape by adding more rows to each side than the ends. Ensure to maintain the granny square motif.
Border:
- In navy, work a round of single crochet all around the edge of the rug, working 3 sc in each corner ch-2 space. Join with sl st.
- Finish with a scalloped edge using *5 dc in one st, skip 2 sts, sl st in next st*. Repeat from * to * around.
- Fasten off and weave in all ends using the tapestry needle.
