Cozy Textured Document Holder Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in cream and beige (approximately 200 yards each)
• H/8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends
• Scissors

Gauge: 14 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches in single crochet

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• hdc = half double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st = stitch

Dimensions:

Finished size should be approximately 11" x 9" when laid flat.

Instructions:

Base:

1. With cream yarn, ch 40.
2. Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (39 sc)
3. Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across.
4. Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures 11" long.

Textured Pattern:

1. Change to beige yarn.
2. Row 1: Ch 1, hdc in first st, *skip next st, hdc in next st; repeat from * across. Turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in first st, *hdc in skipped st, hdc in next st; repeat from * across. Turn.
4. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the piece measures 4" high.

Finishing:

1. Folding the piece in half, join the sides with sc, leaving the top open.
2. Optionally, add a row of sl st around the opening for a clean edge.
3. Weave in all ends using yarn needle.

Optional Embellishments:

Feel free to add pockets inside or buttons for closure. You can also embroider or embellish with patches to personalize your holder.

Care Instructions:
