Materials

• Cotton yarn, lace weight
• Crochet hook size 1.75mm (US size 6)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Instructions

Main Square

1. Foundation Chain: Ch 100.
2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (99 sc)
3. Rows 2-99: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. Repeat until a square shape is achieved, or desired size.

Lacy Edge

1. Round 1: Ch 1, sc around the entire square working 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st to first sc.
2. Round 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), sk next st, dc in next st, ch 1, repeat from * around, join with sl st to third ch of beginning ch-4.
3. Round 3: Sl st into first ch-1 space, ch 3 (counts as dc), 4 dc in same space, sc in next ch-1 space, *(5 dc in next ch-1 space, sc in next ch-1 space); repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of first dc.
4. Round 4: Sl st into next two dcs, ch 3, dc in next 3 sts, *(ch 3, sc in next sc, ch 3, dc in next 5 dc); repeat from * around, join with sl st to top of first dc.

Finishing

• Fasten off and weave in all ends using the tapestry needle. Block the hankie to shape as desired.
