Crochet Enchanting Floral Lace Baby Dress

• Double crochet (dc)
• Shell stitch
• Slip stitch (sl st)

Gauge:

20 stitches and 10 rows in double crochet = 4 inches.

Pattern Instructions:

Body of the Dress:

1. Begin with a chain of 70.
2. Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in each ch across. (68 dc)
3. Row 2: Ch 3, turn. *Skip 2 dc, 5 dc in next dc (this is the shell stitch), skip 2 dc; repeat from * until the end of the row. End with a dc in the top of the last stitch.
4. Repeat Row 2 for 8 more rows or until the piece measures 10 inches from the beginning.

Skirt:

1. Next row: Ch 3, dc in the same stitch, *in the next shell stitch, work 5 dc, in the next dc, work 1 dc; repeat from * across the row.
2. Continue with the shell pattern for 12 rows or desired length of the skirt.

Finishing:

1. Fasten off and weave in ends.
2. Add buttons if desired for closures.
3. Block the dress gently to shape.

Optional Bolero:

For a matching bolero, create a chain of 50 and follow the body pattern for the dress but make it shorter. Attach at the front with a single crochet edge.
