Materials
- Yarn: DK weight in pastel colors (pink, blue, green, yellow, purple, white)
- Crochet Hook: Size G/4.0 mm
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- dc: double crochet
- st: stitch
Instructions
Base Blanket
- With your first color (pink), ch 142.
- Row 1: Sc in the second ch from the hook and in each ch across. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in the next st, *skip next 2 sts, (sc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the next st, repeat from * across, ending with dc in the last 2 sts. Change to next color (blue) and turn.
- Rows 3-42: Repeat Row 2, alternating colors every 2 rows (blue, green, yellow, purple, white, etc.), to create the rainbow stripe pattern.
Scalloped Border
- Join pink yarn at any corner, ch 3 (counts as dc), *5 dc in the next ch-2 space, sk next dc, sc in the next st, repeat from * around, placing 9 dc in each corner. Join with a sl st to starting ch-3.
- Fasten off and weave in all ends using a tapestry needle.
Finishing
