Crochet Simple Ribbed Beanie with Fluffy Pom-Pom Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in light grey
• Crochet hook size K (6.5 mm)
• Large faux fur pom-pom
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Size: Adult

Gauge: 10 hdc x 8 rows = 4 inches

Instructions:

Brim:

1. Ch 10.
2. Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (9 sts)
3. Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in the back loop only of each st across. (9 sts)
4. Repeat Row 2 until the brim measures approximately 20 inches or fits comfortably around the head.
5. Fold the brim in half and slip stitch the short ends together to form a loop.

Body:

6. Ch 1, work 60 sc evenly around the edge of the brim. Join with a sl st to the first sc.
7. Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as hdc here and throughout), hdc in each st around. Join with a sl st to the top of ch-2.
8. Rounds 2-14: Repeat Round 1.
9. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for cinching the top.

Finishing:

10. Using the tapestry needle, thread the long tail through the top edges of the last round and pull to cinch closed. Secure tightly.
11. Attach the faux fur pom-pom to the top of the hat by sewing securely.
