Crochet Star Bag Pattern

Materials

• Worsted weight yarn in pink, cream, and a darker shade of pink
• Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook

Instructions

Base of the Bag

1. Start with a magic ring.
2. Round 1: 12 dc in the magic ring. Pull tight to close. Join with a sl st to the top of the first dc to close the round.
3. Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in the same st, then 2 dc in each st around (24 dc). Join with sl st.
4. Round 3: Ch 3, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st* repeat around (36 dc). Join with sl st.
5. Round 4: Ch 3, *dc in next 2 st, 2 dc in next st* repeat around (48 dc). Join with sl st.
6. Round 5: Ch 3, dc in next 3 st, *2 dc in next st, dc in next 3 st* repeat around (60 dc). Join with sl st.

Body of the Bag

1. Change to cream yarn.
2. Round 6-10: Ch 3, dc in each st around (60 dc). Join with sl st after each round.
3. Round 11: Change to pink yarn. Ch 3, *dc in next 4 st, 2 dc in next st* repeat around (72 dc). Join with sl st.
4. Round 12-16: Ch 3, dc in each st around (72 dc). Join with sl st after each round.

Stars for Decoration

1. Using dark pink yarn, create small star motifs: ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, 10 sc in the ring. Join with sl st.
3. Round 2: Ch 1, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* repeat around (15 sc). Join and fasten off.
4. Make 5 star motifs.

Assembly

1. Attach the stars to the body of the bag by sewing them securely with a tapestry needle.
2. For straps: Ch 80 in pink yarn. Join to body with sl st on each side.
