Crochet Stylish Geometric Tote Bag Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Yarn: Worsted weight in cream, navy blue, brown, and teal
• Crochet Hook: Size H (5.0 mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Measuring tape

Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• sc - single crochet
• dc - double crochet
• sl st - slip stitch

Instructions:

Base of the Bag:

1. With cream yarn, ch 45.
2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (44 sc).
3. Rows 2-5: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn.

Main Pattern:

Switch to working in rounds:

1. Round 1: Join navy blue yarn with a sl st at any corner, ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same st, *skip next sc, sc in next st, skip next sc, 2 dc in next st*, repeat from * to * around, join with sl st to top of ch-3.
2. Round 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as join and each st around, join with sl st to first sc.
3. Round 3: Switch to brown yarn, repeat Round 1.
4. Round 4: Repeat Round 2.
5. Continue alternating colors in the sequence: teal, cream, navy blue, brown, building the diamond pattern as shown in the image until the bag reaches desired height.

Handles:

1. Row 1: With navy blue, ch 70, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn.
2. Rows 2-4: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing handles onto bag.
3. Repeat for the second handle.
4. Attach handles securely to the bag as shown, evenly spaced.

Finishing: Weave in all ends and block your bag to highlight the geometric patterns.
