Crochet Textured Square Potholder Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Cotton yarn (worsted weight)
• Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Notes:

• The chain at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch.
• Gauge is not critical for this project.

Instructions:

Main Square

1. Chain 31.
2. Row 1: Sc in second chain from hook and in each chain across. (30 sc)
3. Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in first stitch, *dc in next stitch, sc in next stitch; repeat from * across.
4. Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch across.
5. Row 4-25: Repeat Rows 2-3. End on a Row 3.

Border

1. Row 1: Ch 1, sc around the entire edge of the square, working 3 sc in each corner. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.
2. Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, working 3 sc in each corner. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Hanging Loop

1. Ch 12, sl st to join forming a loop. Fasten off.
2. Attach loop to one of the corners with sewing needle.

Weave in all ends using a tapestry needle.
