Crochet Vibrant Circular Motif Mandala Throw Blanket
Materials:
- Medium weight yarn (4) in multiple colors (5-6 colors recommended)
- Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Measuring tape
Gauge: 4 inches = 10 double crochets
Pattern Instructions:
Base Circle:
1. Make a magic circle. 2. Round 1: Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), 11 double crochets into the circle. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the chain 3 (12 DC). 3. Round 2: Chain 3, 2 double crochets in each stitch around. Join (24 DC). 4. Round 3: Chain 3, *1 double crochet in next stitch, 2 double crochets in next stitch* repeat around. Join (36 DC). 5. Fasten off and pull the magic circle tight.
Motif Assembly:
6. Repeat the base circle pattern in varying colors to create your motifs. 7. Once you have made at least 16 motifs, it's time to connect them. 8. Place the motifs in a layout that pleases you (a mandala style). 9. Using a slip stitch, attach each motif together by inserting the hook through the back loops of adjacent motifs. 10. Once all motifs are joined, single crochet around the entire edge of the blanket for a finished look, making sure you keep it flat.
Finishing:
Fasten off and weave in all loose ends using your tapestry needle. Block your blanket for an even finish.
Your vibrant mandala throw blanket is now ready to brighten any space in your home!
