Striped Double Crochet Blanket
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in three colors: Black, White, and Green
- Crochet hooks in sizes N/9.00mm and K/6.50mm
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge
4 double crochet stitches and 2 rows = 1 inch using N hook
Abbreviations
- ch: chain
- dc: double crochet
- st(s): stitch(es)
- sc: single crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
Instructions
- Foundation Row: Using the green yarn and N hook, ch 100.
- Row 1: In the fourth chain from the hook, work 1 dc. Dc across. (97 dc)
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn, dc in each dc across. (97 dc)
- Row 3-8: Repeat Row 2.
- Switch to black yarn.
- Row 9: Ch 3, turn, dc in each dc across.
- Row 10-11: Repeat Row 9.
- Switch to white yarn.
- Row 12: Ch 3, turn, dc in each dc across.
- Row 13-14: Repeat Row 12.
- Repeat Rows 9-14, alternating colors as in the pattern (3 rows each of black, 3 rows each of white) until the blanket reaches desired length, ending with 6 rows of green.
- Finishing: Fasten off, weave in all ends with tapestry needle.
Border
- Using the K hook and green yarn, join yarn with a sl st in any corner.
- Round 1: Ch 1, sc evenly around entire edge of the blanket, placing 3 sc in each corner, join with sl st to the first sc.
- Round 2: Ch 3, dc in each sc around, join with sl st to the top of the starting ch-3.
- Fasten off and weave in remaining ends.
