Materials

• Worsted weight yarn in three colors: Black, White, and Green
• Crochet hooks in sizes N/9.00mm and K/6.50mm
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

4 double crochet stitches and 2 rows = 1 inch using N hook

Abbreviations

• ch: chain
• dc: double crochet

• sl st: slip stitch

Instructions

1. Foundation Row: Using the green yarn and N hook, ch 100.
2. Row 1: In the fourth chain from the hook, work 1 dc. Dc across. (97 dc)
3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn, dc in each dc across. (97 dc)
4. Row 3-8: Repeat Row 2.
5. Switch to black yarn.
6. Row 9: Ch 3, turn, dc in each dc across.
7. Row 10-11: Repeat Row 9.
8. Switch to white yarn.
9. Row 12: Ch 3, turn, dc in each dc across.
10. Row 13-14: Repeat Row 12.
11. Repeat Rows 9-14, alternating colors as in the pattern (3 rows each of black, 3 rows each of white) until the blanket reaches desired length, ending with 6 rows of green.
12. Finishing: Fasten off, weave in all ends with tapestry needle.

Border

1. Using the K hook and green yarn, join yarn with a sl st in any corner.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, sc evenly around entire edge of the blanket, placing 3 sc in each corner, join with sl st to the first sc.
3. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in each sc around, join with sl st to the top of the starting ch-3.
4. Fasten off and weave in remaining ends.
