    • Navy blue
    • Maroon
  • Crochet Hook: 5.0 mm crochet hook
  • Gauge: Each granny square measures approximately 4 inches by 4 inches

Step-by-Step Instructions

Creating the Granny Squares

  1. Start with a Magic Ring: Using the olive green yarn, create a magic ring. This will be the center of your first granny square.
  2. Round 1:
    1. Chain 3 (this counts as your first double crochet).
    2. Work 2 double crochets (dc) into the magic ring.
    3. Chain 1.
    4. Repeat the following sequence 3 more times: *3 dc into the ring, chain 1*.
    5. After completing the sequence, you should have 4 groups of 3 dc separated by chain 1 spaces.
    6. Join with a slip stitch (sl st) to the top of the initial chain 3.
    7. Fasten off the olive green yarn.
  3. Round 2:
    1. Join the beige yarn in any chain-1 space from the previous round.
    2. Chain 3 (counts as first dc), then work 2 dc in the same chain-1 space.
    3. Chain 1.
    4. In the next chain-1 space, work 3 dc, chain 1. Repeat this around the square.
    5. Join with a sl st to the top of the initial chain 3.
    6. Fasten off the beige yarn.
  4. Round 3:
    1. Join the burnt orange yarn in any chain-1 space.
    2. Chain 3 (counts as first dc), then work 2 dc in the same chain-1 space.
    3. Chain 1.
    4. In the next chain-1 space, work 3 dc, chain 1. Repeat this around the square.
    5. Join with a sl st to the top of the initial chain 3.
    6. Fasten off the burnt orange yarn.
  5. Round 4:
    1. Join the navy blue yarn in any chain-1 space.
    2. Chain 3 (counts as first dc), then work 2 dc in the same chain-1 space.
    3. Chain 1.
    4. In the next chain-1 space, work 3 dc, chain 1. Repeat this around the square.
    5. Join with a sl st to the top of the initial chain 3.
    6. Fasten off the navy blue yarn.
  6. Repeat Steps 1-4: Continue creating granny squares until you have the desired number for your scarf. Aim for at least 10-12 squares for a comfortable length.

Joining the Squares

  1. Using the navy blue yarn, align two granny squares with the right sides facing each other.
  2. Join the squares together using a slip stitch or single crochet seam. Insert your hook through the top of the stitches of both squares and pull the yarn through, then pull through the loop on your hook.
  3. Continue joining squares until all are connected in your desired configuration.

Finishing Touches

  1. Weave in all loose ends using a yarn needle.
  2. Block your scarf to shape by lightly steaming or wetting it and laying it flat to dry.

Congratulations! You’ve just created your very own Autumn Hues Granny Square Scarf. Enjoy wearing your beautiful handmade accessory, and don’t forget to share your creation with friends and family!
