Materials

• DK weight yarn in multiple colors (blue, pink, orange, purple, green, yellow, grey, and more)
• Crochet hook size G/4.0 mm
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• Scissors

Gauge

14 dc and 7 rows = 4 x 4 inch square

Abbreviations

• ch - chain
• dc - double crochet
• sc - single crochet
• hdc - half double crochet
• sl st - slip stitch
• st(s) - stitch(es)

Instructions

Cowl

1. Using your first color, ch 90, join with a sl st to form a loop. Be careful not to twist.
2. Row 1: ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), dc in each ch around, join with a sl st to top of beginning ch. (90 dc)
3. Row 2: Change to the second color, ch 1, *sc in next 3 sts, ch 1, skip next st; repeat from * around, join with sl st to beginning sc.
4. Row 3: Change to the third color, ch 3, dc in each st and each ch-1 space around, join with sl st to top of beginning ch.
5. Repeat Rows 2 and 3, alternating colors for a total of 15 rows.
6. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Handwarmers (Make 2)

1. Start with a granny square motif: Ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in ring, ch 2, *3 dc in ring, ch 2; repeat from * 2 more times, join with sl st to top of beginning ch. (4 corners made)
3. Round 2: Start with next color, sl st to the next ch-2 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in same space, ch 1, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-2 space, ch 1; repeat from * around, join with sl st to top of beginning ch.
4. Continue alternating colors for 3 rounds.
5. Join yarn to side edge of granny square, ch 1, sc in each st around, for 4 rows.
6. Fasten off and weave in ends.
7. Repeat for the second handwarmer.
