Instructions
Step 1: Cast On
CO 80 stitches using your size 15 needles. Make sure to leave a long tail for weaving in later.
Step 2: Knit the Blanket Body
Work in stockinette stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) for a total of 40 rows. This will give you a soft and squishy texture that feels great against the skin. Make sure to always check for any dropped stitches and fix any mistakes as you go.
Step 3: Bind Off
After completing your 40 rows, it’s time to BO. To do this, knit the first two stitches. Then, use the left needle to lift the first stitch over the second stitch and off the needle. Continue this process until you have one stitch left on the needle. Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of about 6 inches, and pull the last loop through this stitch to secure it.
Step 4: Weave in Ends
Using your tapestry needle, weave in any loose ends from your cast-on and bind-off edges. This step is important to keep your blanket looking neat and tidy.
Finishing Touches
Your cozy orange blanket is now complete! Consider adding a personal touch by embroidering a cozy word or phrase on one corner of the blanket using leftover yarn or a contrasting color. This will make your project unique and heartwarming!
