Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in the following colors: dark brown, soft pink, bright yellow, and dark green (approximately 100-150 yards of each color)

Gauge
18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.
Abbreviations
- k = knit
- p = purl
- st(s) = stitch(es)
- k2tog = knit two stitches together
- p2tog = purl two stitches together
- BO = bind off
- CO = cast on
Instructions
Beanie 1: Dark Brown Beanie (Ribbed)
- CO 80 stitches using the long tail cast-on method.
- Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist your stitches.
- Work in *K2, P2* ribbing for 2 inches.
- Switch to stockinette stitch (knit every round) and work until the hat measures 8 inches from the cast-on edge.
- Begin decreasing:
Round 1: *K8, k2tog* repeat.
Round 2: Knit all stitches.
Round 3: *K7, k2tog* repeat.
Continue this pattern, decreasing until you reach 8 stitches. - Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail through the remaining stitches and pull tight to close the top of the hat. Weave in all ends.
Beanie 2: Soft Pink Beanie (Flat Top)
- CO 70 stitches and work in *K1, P1* ribbing for 1.5 inches.
- Switch to stockinette stitch for 6 inches.
- Make a flat top by decreasing:
Round 1: *K5, k2tog* repeat.
Round 2: *K4, k2tog* repeat.
Work until you have 5 stitches left. - Cut your yarn, pull through the remaining stitches, and secure. Weave in ends.
Beanie 3: Bright Yellow Beanie (Cuffed)
- CO 85 stitches using the long tail method.
- Work in *K1, P1* ribbing for 3 inches for the cuff.
- Switch to stockinette stitch for 5 inches.
- Decrease for the crown:
Round 1: *K4, k2tog* repeat.
Continue decreasing as explained previously until closing the top.
Beanie 4: Dark Green Beanie (Textured)
- CO 75 stitches.
- Work in a textured stitch pattern: *K1, P1 for 2 rows, then knit 1 row*. Repeat until it measures 7 inches.
- Begin decreasing as in the previous beanies.
