Crochet Classic Ribbed Christmas Stocking Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Bulky weight yarn (#5) in cream
• Crochet hook size J/10 (6 mm)
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• dc: double crochet
• blo: back loop only
• sl st: slip stitch

Instructions:

Cuff:

1. Ch 11.
2. Row 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and in each ch across. (10 sc)
3. Rows 2-38: Ch 1, turn. Sc in blo of each st across. (10 sc)
4. Fold the cuff in half and join the ends with sl st to form a loop. Set aside.

Body:

1. With cuff loop ready, pick up and join yarn with sl st at any point along the edge where the cuff was seamed together.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, sc evenly around the cuff edge. Join with sl st to first sc. (38 sc)
3. Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as first dc here and throughout), dc in blo of each st around, join with sl st to top of beginning ch-2.
4. Rounds 3-20: Repeat Round 2.

Heel:

1. Row 1: Ch 1, sc in first 20 sts, turn.
2. Row 2-10: Work in sc, turning at the end of each row (20 sc per row).
3. Fold in half and sl st the edges together to form heel.

Foot:

1. Continue working in rounds.
2. Round 1: Ch 2, dc in blo of each st, join with sl st to top of beginning ch-2.
3. Rounds 2-10: Repeat Round 1.
4. Fasten off.

Finishing:

1. Weave in all ends with a yarn needle.
2. Attach a small loop of yarn at the top to hang the stocking.
