Whimsical Forest Critter Beanie

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in brown and green (100g each)
• 5mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Stitch markers

Size: Adult (with instructions for adjusting size)

Stitch Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st = stitch

Pattern:

Base of the Hat:

1. Start by making a magic ring.
2. Round 1: 10 sc into the magic ring. (10)
3. Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (20)
4. Round 3: *1 sc, 2 sc in next st* repeat around. (30)
5. Round 4-10: sc in each st around. (30)
6. Round 11: *1 sc, 1 dc* in next 4 sts, repeat around. (30)
7. Switch to green yarn.
8. Round 12-15: sc in each st around. (30)

Creating the Ears:

• For each ear, use brown yarn.
• Ch 5 and turn, starting from the second ch: sc in first st, dc in next 2 sts, sc in last st.
• Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Finishing the Hat:

1. Sew the ears to the top of the hat, spaced evenly.
2. Fold the brim of the hat up to add a nice touch.
3. Weave in any loose ends.
