Elegant Crochet Lace Doily Pattern

Instructions

1. Foundation Round: Ch 8, join with a sl st to form a ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), 15 dc in ring, join with sl st to top of ch 3. (16 dc)
3. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, ch 2, [2 dc in next dc, ch 2] around, join with sl st to top of ch 3.
4. Round 3: Sl st to next ch-2 sp, ch 3, dc in same sp, ch 1, [2 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1] around, join with sl st to top of ch 3.
5. Round 4: Sl st to next ch-1 sp, ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), dc in same sp, ch 2, [dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 2, dc in same sp, ch 2] around, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beginning ch 5.
6. Round 5: Sl st to next ch-2 sp, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, ch 1, [3 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1] around, join with sl st to top of ch 3.
7. Round 6: Sl st to next dc, ch 1, sc in same dc, ch 5, sk next 2 dc, sc in next dc, [ch 5, sk 2 dc, sc in next dc] around, join with sl st to starting sc.
8. Round 7: Sl st into next ch-5 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp, [ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp] around, join with sl st to starting sc.

Finishing

Block the doily by lightly spraying with water and pinning it to the desired shape until dry.
