Colorful Chevron Sweater

This Colorful Chevron Sweater features a beautiful zigzag pattern in a range of colors including pink, green, navy, and light grey. It is a slightly oversized sweater with fitted sleeves, perfect for layering over shirts or wearing alone. Materials

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in the following colors:
  • Color A: Light Grey
  • Color B: Dusty Pink
  • Color C: Olive Green
  • Color D: Navy Blue
  • Color E: Dark Red
• Needles: Size 8 (5 mm) circular needles, 32” long for the body and size 8 (5 mm) double-pointed needles for the sleeves
• Stitch markers
• Measuring tape
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Instructions

Body

1. CO 80 stitches using Color A.
2. For the ribbing, knit 1, purl 1 for 10 rows.
3. Start the chevron pattern as follows:
• Row 1 (RS): Using Color A, K all stitches.
• Row 2 (WS): P all stitches.
• Row 3: K2, *yo, k2tog; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, K2.
• Row 4: P all stitches.
4. Change to Color B and continue the chevron pattern for 6 rows (follow rows 1-4).
5. Continue changing colors in the same chevron pattern (Color C, then Color D, and so on) every 6 rows, until you reach a total of 28 inches from CO edge.
6. Once you've reached the desired length, switch to Color A and knit 10 rows of ribbing to finish the body.
7. Bind off loosely to allow for stretch.

Sleeves

1. Pick up 40 stitches under each arm using Color A with circular needles.
2. For the ribbing, knit 1, purl 1 for 10 rows, just like for the body.
3. Begin the chevron pattern:
   • Row 1: K all stitches.
   • Row 2: P all stitches.
   • Row 3: K2, *yo, k2tog; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, K2.
   • Row 4: P all stitches.
4. Repeat this pattern switching colors every 6 rows until you reach the desired sleeve length of about 18 inches from the CO edge.
5. Finish with 10 rows of Color A ribbing and bind off loosely.

Finishing

1. Weave in all loose ends with a yarn needle.
2. Block your sweater to shape, if necessary, following the care instructions of your yarn.
