Materials:

• Yarn: Bulky weight yarn in your choice of colors (2 skeins)
• Hook Size: US-L, 8.0mm
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Gauge: 8 stitches x 6 rows = 4 inches in textured stitch

Sizes: Child (Adult, Adult Large) - fits head circumference 18 (20, 22) inches

Instructions:

Start with the Brim:

1. Ch 12 for child, or ch 14 for adult sizes.
2. Row 1: Hdc in each ch across, turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in each stitch across, join to form a circle.
4. Row 3-6: Hdc in each st around.

Body of the Beanie:

1. Switch to the textured stitch:
2. Round 1: Ch 1, (sk 1 st, 2 dc in next st, sk 1 st, 1 dc in next st) repeat around.
3. Round 2: Ch 1, (1 dc in first st, 2 dc in next, 1 dc in next) repeat around.
4. Continue these rounds until beanie measures 6 (7, 8) inches from brim.

Finish the Beanie:
