Diamond Stitch Pattern
Row 1: CH 64. DC in 4th CH from hook, DC in next CH, *CH 1, SK 2 CH, DC in next 2 CH. Repeat from * to end. Turn.
Row 2: CH 3 (counts as first DC), *DC in CH 1 SP, CH 1. Repeat from * across. Turn.
Row 3: CH 4 (counts as first DC), DC in next DC, *CH 1, SK CH 1 SP, DC in next DC. Repeat from * across. Turn.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until piece measures 24 inches or desired length.
Construction
Fold the finished rectangle in half to create the capelet shape. Whip stitch the sides, leaving a 12-inch opening for arms. Weave in all ends.
Finishing Touches
To give it a polished look, add a scalloped edge by working *3 DC in the same stitch, SL ST into next stitch* around the entire bottom edge.
