Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn (light brown, cream, and black)
- Crochet hook size H (5.0 mm)

Instructions:
Base of the Hat:
1. Begin with a magic ring.
2. Round 1: 10 hdc in the magic ring, pull tight (10 hdc).
3. Round 2: 2 hdc in each stitch around (20 hdc).
4. Round 3: *1 hdc, 2 hdc in next*, repeat around (30 hdc).
5. Round 4-8: Hdc in each stitch around (30 hdc).
6. Round 9: 1 hdc, 1 dc in next, repeat (45 stitches).
7. Round 10: *1 dc, 1 bobble in next*, repeat (30 stitches).
8. Rounds 11-12: Hdc in each stitch (30 hdc).
Owl Eyes:
1. Using cream yarn, create 2 circles of 6 sc in a magic ring, slip stitch to finish.
2. Next round: 2 sc in each stitch around (12 sc).
3. Using black yarn, embroider small pupils onto the cream circles and sew them onto the hat where desired.
Earflaps:
1. Attach yarn to the bottom side of the hat. Chain 10, turn.
2. Row 1: Hdc in each chain (10 hdc).
3. Row 2-4: Repeat Row 1.
4. Fasten off and weave in ends. Create a second earflap on the opposite side.
Ties:
1. For a cute touch, create twisted ties using 3 strands of yarn about 20 inches long. Attach to the bottom of each earflap.
2. Make pom-poms for the ends of the ties if desired.
Finishing:
