Materials:

  • Lightweight cotton yarn in three colors: beige, rust, and olive green
  • 4.0 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
  • Jewelry clasp / chain for necklace

Motif Instructions

Start by creating the triangular landscape motif:

Round 1: Using beige yarn, make a magic circle, ch 3 (counts as first hdc), 9 hdc into the circle. Pull tight and join to the top of the ch 3 (10 hdc).

Round 2: Ch 3, hdc in the same stitch, 2 hdc in each stitch around. Join (20 hdc).

Round 3: Ch 3, hdc in the same stitch, hdc in next stitch, *2 hdc in next stitch, hdc in next stitch*, repeat from * to * around. Join (30 hdc).

Color Changes for Landscape

Round 4: Change to rust yarn. Ch 1, sc in same stitch, *sc in next 5 stitches, change to olive green*, sc in next 10 stitches, change to rust, repeat for a total of 2 landscape sections. Finish off.

Assembly

Attach multiple motifs together by joining the edges with slip stitches or sc. Make as many as you like to create a cascading effect. Measure and cut a length of yarn for the necklace cord, and attach a clasp on each end.

Use the tapestry needle to weave in any loose ends. Your Whimsical Triangular Landscape Necklace is now ready to wear!
