Instructions
Starting with Color A
- Ch 40, join to form a ring, being careful not to twist.

- Round 2: Ch 2, *hdc in next 19 st, bpdc in next 1 st; repeat from * around (change color here to Color B). Join.
- Round 3: Ch 2, *hdc in next 20 st, bpdc in next 1 st; repeat from * around (change color here to Color C). Join.
- Round 4: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join.
- Round 5: Repeat Round 2 with Color A.
- Round 6: Repeat Round 3 with Color B.
Continuing the Pattern
- Continue alternating colors and following the hdc and bpdc pattern until hat measures approximately 6 inches from the start.
- Finish with a round in Color A for the final touch.
Crowning the Beanie
- To shape the crown, decrease by hdc2tog at intervals every 5th stitch in the last round. Continue until you have 8 stitches left.
- Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail through remaining stitches and pull tight to close the top of the hat.
- Weave in all ends.
